Ski holidays Bad Gastein - Enjoy a winter holiday, Belle Époque and spa flair!

Bad Gastein

Bad Gastein lies at an altitude of 1,002 metres in the heart of Salzburger Land. The traditional spa town with its almost 4,000 inhabitants gained national fame from the 16th century onwards thanks to gold mining and today is characterised above all by its Belle Époque-style buildings, which nestle in terraces on the steep slopes. However, the landmark of the ski resort is the "Gastein Waterfall" with its impressive drop of around 200 metres. It has inspired many painters and poets and is a popular attraction for ice climbers in winter.

Nestled in the alpine landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park, Bad Gastein offers a variety of winter activities such as skiing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking and tobogganing in addition to its sophisticated flair. The spa town also has a lot to offer away from the slopes. These include the Felsentherme thermal spa with its warm thermal pools and the historic old town with its cafés and boutiques that invite you to take a stroll. Regional and international cuisine is served in the restaurants.

Gastein Valley - Ski amadé

Gastein Valley is situated in the heart of the Salzburger Land and is among the largest and loveliest ski regions in the state. Charming belle époque buildings from the imperial era, lovely and inviting resorts, clear air and thermal water characterise the valley. Numerous hotels with thermal and spa facilities, as well as two large thermal springs, ensure ample relaxation for visitors. Apres ski fans aren't short-changed either, as numerous lodges, discos and bars allow for long, lively evenings! In the total of four ski areas (up to 2,650 m), both expert and beginning skiers find just the right run with plenty of snow.
