Ski area Wildkogel-Arena

The "Wildkogel-Arena" between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Tauernkamm offers skiers and snowboarders excellent conditions on 75 kilometres of piste.

The ski area offers 20 modern and comfortable lifts - from tow lifts to the newly built 10-person gondola "Ganzer X-press". The Wildkogel lift takes you up to 2,128 m. Once there, you can enjoy the majestic panorama of the Hohe Tauern National Park from the look-out point, with a grand panorama of the National Park Hohe Tauern and views of the several 3,000-m mountains and the "highest Salzburger", the Großvenediger (3,666 m).

The ski area is particularly popular for families with children and over 85 % of the pistes are blue and red. The extremely wide and open pistes offer tons of space for carving and boarding.

The little ones can spend the day at "Kogel-Mogel Kinderland". A further highlight is the long valley run from the slopes on Wildkogel, through the forest runs, directly into the centre of the resort. Freestylers will get their money's worth in the fun park at the tow lift in "Wolkenstein".

The ski area Wildkogel-Arena is especially well-equipped for environment-friendly skiing. Since 2010 the highest solar power station in Europe is located at an altitude of 2.100 m - a photovolatic system that supplies 75 percent of the requirement for the Wildkogel lifts. The Wildkogel-Arena is also a member of the "Alpine Perle", a society that campaigns for environmentally friendly holidays.

Even more diversity and fun on the pistes is available with the "Zillertal Arena" lift pass extension. On 150 km of piste and 52 lifts, skiers and snowboarders can look forward to a diverse offer of pistes at every level of skill. Almost 100 % reliability for snow and skiing on altitudes up to 2,500 m guarantee perfect ski holidays for the whole family.

Après ski Wald im Pinzgau

After and entertaining day on the piste, Wald has a good selection of activities and relaxation options available to end the day. If you prefer a cold, refreshing drink after skiing you can swing down to Königsleiten or stop by the Wildkogel to try some of the hut and apres ski bars."Kings the bar" and "Hannes' Alm" are only a couple of top locations where you can party.

In the "Kristallbad" with its spa area and sauna complex you can fully relax and let go of all the everyday stress. Winter hikes through the white landscape will also let your senses come to rest. If you are rather looking for some action you can also try ice climbing at the Untersulzbach waterfalls.

One place which is definitively worth a visit is the Krimmler waterfalls which crash down from 380 m hight and therefore are the highest waterfalls in Europe. Krimml is only approx. 7 km away and therefore is easily reached and should not be missed to see.

A special highlight at the Wildkogel is the longest illuminated toboggan run worldwide. The Wildkogel lift or the Smaragd lift take you up easily to the starting point. Once you are on your way you will slide through various serpentine passes right down to Bramberg and cover a total length of 14 km on your way, running through a difference in elevation of 1,300 m! The entire ride lasts more than half an hour!

Snowpark: Snowpark Wald im Pinzgau

Freestylers can find snow parks at the Wildkogel, as well as in the Zillertal Arena. The area at the Wildkogel is especially great for beginner and families. The size of the snow park is manageable and comprises an easy line with small jumps and boxes. 2 further parks can be found in the Zillertal Arena.

Furthermore, the 30,000 m² large park in Gerlos also includes a 100 m long half-pipe at Fußalm. You will find a new fun run with steep turns and several obstacles, an easy and medium line with boxes and jumps, as well as a pro jump. Kids will find their own line. Furthermore, a chill area with sound system awaits you for a suitable atmosphere.

In Zell am Ziller there is also the Action-Park Kreuzwiese, which is not a classic funpark, but instead comprises an unusual offer with bag jump, snake run, and speed check run along with a chill area made with Indian tents. Additionally, there are boarder cross and ski cross runs in Königsleiten.
