Ski holidays Bad Aussee - a dream in white!
Bad Aussee
A sign of the geographic centre of Austria, the so-called "Mittelpunktstein" (English: "centre stone") is located in the city spa park at 659 m altitude. Bad Aussee owes its origin to the salt mine near Altaussee, where salt was mined as early as 1147. A vacation highlight is certainly the tour of the salt mine, which is still active today. The place is also known for fabrics and fabric hand printing art, which is why the region is also called the "Trachteninsel" (English: "costume island"). If you're looking for a little wellness after experiencing all of the cultural and shopping opportunities, you can relax in the Vital Bad Aussee. Also recommended are the two thermal baths in Bad Mitterndorf (14 km away). The range of sports and recreational opportunities includes groomed hiking trails, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides (even as a scheduled service), winter horseback riding and tobogganing. Nowhere else is the Salzkammergut is as lively and diverse as Bad Aussee.Styrian Salzkammergut
The Styrian Salzkammergut - comprising the Ausseerland and Hinterberg Valley - is a region with upholds lots of charm and tradition. Folk music, dance and costume play a large role here. Many resorts in this area can still proudly present hand-made crafts, such as textile printing, custom tailoring, leather trouser crafting and hat crafting. The beautiful and diverse landscape with various valleys, the Traun river bed, many lakes and mountain peaks - such as the dominant Dachstein massif and the Totes Gebirge (dead mountains) - make this a unique place to visit.Travel Bad Aussee
