Ski holidays Bregenz – Mountain sports and relaxation at Lake Constance!
Bregenz
Bregenz is the state's capital and the third biggest town in Vorarlberg. It is an important harbour and culture town directly at Lake Constance, which is an attractive destination on many levels. With around 30,000 inhabitants, it offers lots of cultural activities, e.g. on the "Culture mile" where art galleries, theatre stages and museums can be found close together. Cultural festivals for music, dance and play enjoy international attention annually, and marvellous buildings such as the state library or the Martin's Tower - one of the Bregenz's symbols - coin the town's face. The picturesque location directly at the lakefront as well as the proximity to smaller and larger ski areas also make this town a popular place for nature and winter sports fans. The next mountain experience awaits winter sports fans close by at the local mountain Pfänder, the most famous viewing point of the region. 240 Alpine peaks in three countries as well as a unique view over Lake Constance wait for you there. The nearly 1,100 m high mountain invites for long winter hikes, tobogganing and family-friendly ski and snowboard fun.Lake Constance
The picturesque Lake Constance is for many a synonym for a perfect relaxing holiday. The lake is situated in the Alpine foreland and therefore right next to the enchanting mountain world. The largest part of its shore, however, is located on Bavarian grounds, surrounded by gentle alps. With 536 km², Lake Constance is the lake with the biggest surface in Germany, which consists of two lakes as well as a connecting river: Lake Obersee, Lake Untersee and the Seerhein. The entire Lake Constance region stretches across four countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland have direct access to the lake and then there is the Principality of Liechtenstein. A definite bonus point of this holiday region around these gorgeous waters is its diversity. Attractive towns such as Bregenz, Constance, Lindau or Friedrichshafen invite for some sightseeing while several castles and fortresses remind of the old times and a series of museum, galeries and modern architecture keep the culture fan entertained. Its proximity to the mountains makes this the ideal location for skiing and snowboarding, winter hiking and tobogganing. The region around Lake Constance makes for an attractive destination for activity holidays with its two sports worlds - on the water and on the mountain.Travel Bregenz
