Ski area Dachstein West
The regional lift pass allows you to enjoy wonderful descents in various ski areas, which are connected by free ski buses. Beginners and leisure skiers in particular, as well as advanced skiers, will find a variety of pistes here. The fun slopes await with a slalom course including timekeeping, snowcross facilities, wave run and mogul slopes. If that's not enough fun for you, you're sure to get your money's worth with night skiing on the Ötscher lift.
Beginners will enjoy the broad, well-prepared pistes in order to try out their first moves on skis. Families with children know well that the ski region is perfectly equipped to cater their needs. Numerous offers for little skiers, several ski kindergartens and ski camps offer a lot of fun for children.
Both skiers and snowboarders can let off steam in the various fun parks. The Dachstein West snow park in the Russbach area is the largest and most diverse, and provides jumps, rails and tables. Free riders get their money worth in the Freesports Arena Krippenstein which is one of the hotspots in the free ride scene.
The panorama ski circuit "Panoronda" with a total of 44 km of piste is a diverse experience on perfectly prepared and signposted pistes. Cosy huts and sun terraces are available for breaks and especially for enjoying the magnificent panorama view.

Night skiing Golling
Skiing until night-time is also part of the deal in the Dachstein West ski area. On the valley side of Gosau, and thus easily reachable from Golling, there is a small night ski area. Once a week you can still have fun on skis after the official opening hours. Nearby Ötscherlift, a section of approx. 1 km is illuminated for night skiing every Friday. Like this, the bottom part of the valley run is turned into a night ski piste. The red slope is an appropriate challenge even for experienced skiers. The beginner's piste at Brumsiland nearby the Hornspitzbahn lift's valley station also benefits from the floodlights and is also available for night skiing. Furthermore, snow lovers can also enjoy a ride on the nature tobogganing run or go on either a hike or snow shoe hike through the wonderful winter landscape. The more romantic variety is a horse drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered Bluntau valley.
Those interested in history, can learn more about traditional trades - e.g. hand-weaving or Austria's only private paper factory. A visit to close-by Salzburg, the city of Mozart, is definitely worth while, as well as a trip to the "Salzwelten Hallein", where the whole family can gather interesting impressions. Especially the little ones will be thrilled by the amusing underground slides.
Guests who are looking to relax, can visit the "Aqua Salza" oasis in the resort with sauna, beauty, and spa area, as well as an indoor pool with a children's area.

The ski region "Dachstein West" has a total of four different fun parks ready and waiting for every freestyler to get their money's worth!
Those looking for the ultimate risk factor should take a look at the Snowpark Dachstein West: obstacles such as the 6 m-long wave box and various medium kickers, a jib box and a 70 m-long waverun provide the ultimate adrenaline kick. Does all this seems too daring to you? No problem, as the beginner elements allow even newcomers to defy gravity too. Professional shapers guarantee first-class shred sessions. With the free WLAN hotspot, you can also share your new achievements right away.
If you want to practice away from freestyle aces first, you can find three other places to head to in the ski area: the "Ötscher Kids Park" in Gosau, the "Anna-Park" in Annaberg and the "Rookie Park" in Russbach. Small waves, steep turns, jumps, boxes and rails are ideal for practising.
