A total of 40 km of cross-country trails at all levels of difficulty are available in and around Maria Alm in the Hochkönig region. Schatteberg trail is especially suitable for beginners, and it can even be illumianted in the evening. The 14 km Krallerwinkl trail is for more ambitious Nordic Skiers. Hochkönig trail has a length of 5 km and is located on an altitude of 1,016 m to 1,1179 m, and is also known to be an easy trail. If you prefer skating style, you will find further 22 km of trails. These are connected to the widespread cross-country ski network in Saalfelden.
