Information on cross-country skiing

121 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The cross-country trails in the region Kaiserwinkl are very popular and have rightly been awarded with the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of quality! All cross-country fans will find approx. 240,5 km of tracks (121 km for classic and 119,5 km skating style).

The longest and also the most challenging track is the Kaiserwinkl trail. This round course connects the holiday resorts Kössen, Walchsee and Schwendt on a length of 23 km. It is quieter on the valley trails in e.g. Schwendt and Walchsee, which are between 2 and 3 km long. On a length of 5.5 to 9 km the Hochau trail in Kössen offers an intermediate level for everyone with a little experience in cross-country skiing and fitness.

More marvellous trails in the region are the Griesenau trail nearby Schwendt, the lake trail around lake Walchsee (8 km) or the 13 km long Miesberg trail.

The "Koasalauf" (Tyrolean: Emperor run) takes place on the 2nd weekend in February every year and is a true highlight, with approx. 2,000 cross-country skiers taking place every year.

The cross-country trail network in the Kaiserwinkl region is awarded with a seal of quality.
