The Hochkönig region offers attractive cross-country skiing fun for beginners and advanced skiers. There are around a dozen groomed trails with a total length of 40 kilometres to choose from, most of them in Maria Alm. The level of the trails is easy to medium, but one variant of the Möserloipe is particularly challenging. Some of the trails are groomed for skating as well as classic skiing.
The Arthurhaus high-altitude trail starts in Mühlbach at an altitude of 1,500 metres. Dogs are also allowed on a lead on this 3 km trail. The floodlit "Schattbergloipe" in Maria Alm offers a special highlight. Here you can enjoy the night landscape on a 2 km trail with an easy level of difficulty.
