Ski area Hochzillertal-Hochfügen-Spieljoch
From Münster you have access to two ski areas: Spieljoch and Hochfügen-Hochzillertal. The Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski dorado's valley station is located on an altitude of 1,500 m, and guarantees security of snow until late Apri because of the high alpine hollow. The high valley is perfectly suited for skiers looking for a ski area that meets all needs. Boarders can look forward to fun and action in the snowpark with half pipe. Thanks to the connection of Hochfügen and Hochzillertal, you have access to approx. 89 km of diverse pistes (incl. ski routes), one of which is a flood-lit valley run, and 36 lifts!
The Spieljoch ski area offers further 17 km of perfectly prepared pistes, a total of 7 lifts and magic carpets for the first steps in the snow on skis. Wonderful deep powder snow sloes on Geolsalm, and the 7 km valley run down to Fügen excite even the most experienced skier. Starting from December 2018, the new 10-person Wimbachexpress gondola will replace the old Krössbichl 4-person chair lift in the Hochzillertal area. The new mountain station is also home to the new, exclusive "Albergo" Italian restaurant and is located about 180 m higher, where more runs can be found. As a foretaste of the peak-to-peak ski area connection from Hochzillertal-Hochfügen to Spieljoch, an hourly ski bus connection has already been set up between the Spieljoch valley station in Fügen and Kaltenbach in Hochzillertal.
Après ski Münster
One highlight in the Kaltenbach-Hochzillertal ski area is the "Kristallhütte" located on an altitude of 2,150 next to the Kristall-Express lift's mountain station. It offers a young, creative cuisine with fresh and regional products at fair prices. Inside the hut you can look forward to an open fireplace, quaint parlours and a wine cellar. In good weather conditions the sun terrace is open for you, offering a bar as well as deck chairs and water beds.
If that is too much, Alpbach valley offers cosy stops in quaint mountain huts where you can take it slow with a hearty meal. You can also let yourself be spoiled in one of the numerous restaurants, take part in torch hikes or go night tobogganing. Alpbach valley offers a total 8 toboggan runs - two of which are in Alpbach and Inneralpbach. The local ice rink invites ice skaters to do their rounds. Snowshoe hikes, guided winter hikes and horse-drawn carriage rides are also on offer.
Snowpark: Snowpark Betterpark Münster
The Hochzillertal "Betterpark" is situated right next to the 8-person chairlift Schnee Express on an altitude of 2,050 m to 2,120 m in the Hochzillertal-Hochfügen ski area.
The parks own lift takes you right back up, so that you can go on to the next ride with out much of an interruption. The park offers three lines at different levels of difficulty, so that beginners, intermediates and pro can test their talents on kickers and other obstacles. The jib line with boxes and rails at the end of the park is a special treat. Since December 2016 the newer "Snowpark Lamark" at the Lamark lifts has been available. The small park has three lines with 12 elements suitable for every level of skill and promises a lot of fun!
After a long day of freestyling or taking a break during the runs the chill area with container, deckchairs and a proper sound system invites you to linger. Other than Betterpark, fans of sun and freestyle will find numerous further snowparks to let off steam in the entire Zillertal region - e.g. in Mayrhofen, Gerlos or at Hintertux Glacier.
