Ski holidays Sillian - skiing fun with a wonderful view of the Dolomites!
Sillian
The district Sillian is located at 1,103 m altitude between the world-famous South Tyrol and Lienzer Dolomites and is the main resort of the Alta Pusteria. The ski region is known to be the sun and snow paradise of Eastern Tyrol. Three family-friendly ski areas can be explored in this impressive area, which is also well-known for it's spectacular views: The 2 ski areas which are also suitable for beginners, Obertilliach and Kartisch, as well as the largest ski centre of the region, the Thurntaler at Sillian, offer altogether 38 km of well-prepared pistes of all difficulties. Therefore this area is well suited for families and tranquillity seekers and also cross-country skiers will find what they are looking for with a network of approx. 140 km of trails in close proximity.Alta Pusteria
On the border to South Tyrol, away from any stress, lies the sunny Hochpustertal valley. In the middle of the picturesque mountains, the ski area present an awesome panorama view onto the Dolomites. Well groomed pistes and first-class cross-country tracks are only waiting to be explored. The skiing centre of Alta Pusteria also offers an attractive snow park covering an area of 30,000 m² in which boarders and skiers alike can have fun. Relaxation is also very important in Alta Pusteria: during a placid winter hike, a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride or the cosy retreat into one of the Tyrolean guesthouses, the day-to-day stress takes a back seat.Travel Sillian
