Ski area Arlberg
Thanks to the comprehensive childcare facilities and many blue pistes, St. Anton am Arlberg is ideal for families and beginners. The Arlberg (1,304 - 2,811 m) is one of the most snow-sure regions in the entire Alpine region: in combination with state-of-the-art snow-making facilities, excellent piste conditions are guaranteed. However, the Arlberg is not only known for its well-prepared pistes, but also as a freeride Mecca. There are a total of around 200 kilometres of deep-snow slopes for a perfect powder day. The mountain restaurants of the Arlberger Bergbahnen also offer free Wi-Fi.
The "STANTON PARK" fun park in the Rendl ski area is an Eldorado for snowboarders. Real experts can take on the world champion-proven race courses below the Kapall (2,330 m), while beginners can make gentle turns on the Gampen.
Après ski St. Anton
In the afternoon, life shifts to the pedestrian zone, St. Anton's promenade with a multitude of chic shops, cosy cafés and restaurants. At an altitude of 2,100 m, the "Galzig Verwallstube" is one of the highest gourmet restaurants in Europe, offering fine delicacies. Late at night, the party goes on in various bars, pubs and discos.
If you feel more like relaxing, you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for in the large wellness centre Arlberg WellCom with three swimming pools and a sauna and wellness area. Or you can take advantage of one of the numerous possibilities at the arl.rock sports and climbing centre. There, the offer ranges from squash, tennis and football to climbing. There is also a trampoline hall as well as opportunities for ice climbing on the outside wall. St. Anton has meanwhile not only made a name for itself as the "cradle of alpine skiing", but climbers also like to come here. In the skiing area, more precisely on the Rendl, for example, one of the most beautiful winter climbing routes in Tyrol is at your disposal: It is 850 metres long, secured with a steel rope and is considered particularly attractive because of its panoramic view.
Another highlight is the 4.3 km long illuminated natural toboggan run with a difference in altitude of 500 metres. The descent down the winding toboggan run takes around 15 minutes. Those who simply want to explore the surroundings on foot can choose their favourite route from the total of 80 km of winter hiking trails.
Snowpark: STANTON SNOWPARK St. Anton
Embedded in the unique landscape of the Arlberg you will find the "STANTON PARK", located at the mountain station Rendl, ideally accessible via 2 ski lifts. It's great location, directly on the brim of the Rendle terrace, provides the chance for both spectators and riders to enjoy the action going on in the park. Thanks to events such as the Acrobag Progression Tour, who in 2015 will be stopping in Europe for the first time, the park has become one of the top location within the scene.
The "STANTON PARK" has a sensational selection for the riders - spread over 3 areas with varying levels of difficulty (beginner, advanced, and pro). The obstacles include various rails and boxes, kickers with 15 m tables, pipes, a wall ride and a big tube, and much more. Head shaper René Friedl and his team are endeavoured to make this park a unique experience for all riders and work hard to leave no wishes unfulfilled.
Next to the "STANTON PARK", a funslope with waves, steep curves, a tunnel, speed boost and two "high five" with sound effects can be found in the ski area. Here, everybody can let off steam, without previous knowledge. You should also check out the Spaßpiste on the Galzig.
If you want to detour to other ski areas from time to time, you don't have to miss out on freestyle fun. In Lech and also on the Sonnenkopf there are further parks to try out. The snow park "Lech am Arlberg" also provides 3 lines with mini kickers for kids and the best triple-kicker line in the entire Alps. On the Sonnenkopf beginners will find lots of space for practising: the beginner fun park offer 5 medium elements, as well as a kicker line (3 - 5 m).
