Ski area Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee

The "Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee" lift pass includes both the Rifflsee and Pitztal Glacier ski areas. This means that all winter sports enthusiasts have access to an area with approx. 66 kilometres of pistes, 12 lifts and 4 magic carpets between 1,640 and 3,440 m above sea level - plus 3 km of off-piste runs. Excellently groomed pistes, fun parks, a halfpipe, deep snow and freeride areas, a floodlit piste as well as the high snow guarantee attract skiers, carvers and snowboarders alike.

Families get their money's worth in the Rifflsee ski area (approx. 26 kilometres of pistes) in particular. The Grubenkopf also offers wonderful deep snow areas and a black run! A red downhill run takes you back to the valley station of the glacier lift and allows you to switch to the Pitztal Glacier ski area.

The highest ski area in Austria offers a unique nature experience with the highest igloo village in the world, complete with illuminated ice sculptures, bar and chill-out area. Another special feature is the Wildspitzbahn, a modern cable car that takes you to the futuristically designed mountain station at 3,440 metres above sea level in just a few minutes. The cable car is also home to Austria's highest café, which has a free-floating sun terrace.

A snow park with various elements will delight snowboarders in particular, and there are also great freeride areas on the Mittelbachferner. The ski tour through the Taschachtal valley proves to be an area for real experts. It is no coincidence that the Pitztal Glacier is the venue for one of the toughest freeride races, the Pitztal Wild Face.

Après ski St. Leonhard

Various apres ski bars and rustic taverns offer fun and variety after a day of skiing. The first mulled wine of the day can already be enjoyed on the sun terrace of one of the ski lodges. In the valley you can continue the party e.g. in the "Schirmhaserlbar". In St. Leonhard you will find various bars, restaurants and pubs, such as the "Hexenkessel" or "Bar Theis" to fill an entertaining evening.

Sporty alternatives to fun on the piste can be found on winter hiking trails, on many toboggan runs, some of which are also lit up in the evening, and sledging over 200 right up to 6 km. A real highlight is the spectacular ice climbing terrain at the "Big Ben", a 30 m high ice tower alongside the valley station of the Rifflesee lift. A top area for ice climbing can be reached via the glacier express: in the actual glacier ski area the is an ice cave whit offers perfect conditions for alpine climbers. But there are also less daring activities available, such as ice skating and curling, or tennis - all on offer in the Pitz Valley.

Snowpark: Snowpark Pitztaler Gletscher St. Leonhard

Freestyling in perfect conditions and various areas is possible in the snow park on the Pitztal glacier. The park lies at the Mittelberg lift/piste 36 and is located at an altitude of 3,000 m. From beginners to professionals, no one will be missing out: the park set-up consists of a total of three areas with different jumps of all difficulty levels. Besides kickers, boxes and rails, the park offers a wave track for beginners as well as for advanced riders.

Freestylers can let loose in this park from autumn until spring, as the high altitude offers constant conditions during every season and time of day.
