Thiersee
The picturesque village Thiersee is embedded in an idyllic mountain scenery on the extensive high altitude plateau of the Thier Lake Valley on 678 m altitude and lies around 9 km from Kufstein am Inn. The highest point of the valley is the peak of the Hinterer Sonnwendjoch with 1,986 m, which is also the highest mountain of the Mangfall mountain range which in turn is part of the Bavarian foothills of the Alps. Thiersee, which is situated at the lake of the same name, is the centre of the valley and offers the perfect opportunity for holiday makers to retreat surrounded by a stunning mountain panorama and unspoilt nature. Kufsteinerland is located in Tyrol, near the Bavarian border. Its close proximity to the Kitzbühel Alps, the Kaiser Mountains and the Bavarian Alps allows seemingly endless ski fun. The Kufstein region, together with the stronghold town Kufstein, are both influenced by tradition and a unique landscape and offer cultural variety.
