Ski holidays Turrach – ideal destination for families!
Turrach
Wood and iron have always been the motor for Turrach's economy. The iron mine and the local forestry dominated the lives of the locals in this pretty resort at the foot of the Turracher Höhe. At 1,269 m altitude, the resort has now developed into a popular winter sports centre. On the high plateau, just above the resort, not only skiers and snowboarders, but also cross-country skiers and hikers will find the perfect terrain to elaborate in their sport. The unique nature backdrop and the surrounding Karawanks, the Jurian Alps and the Nock Mountains provide for great views while on tour. The centre of the high plateau is formed by the Turracher Lake. Thanks to the diverse holiday offers and the manageable ski area, Turrach is the perfect place to go for families with children.Nock Mountains
The national park Nock Mountains lies in Carinthia, in the south of Austria. Over an area of 184 km² you will find a wonderful mixture of the oldest mountain formation in Europe, as well as breathtaking nature and a wonderful fauna. Tradition still plays an important role in the region, however also modern influence is well considered. Winter sports fans will not only find a promising selection of spa offers but also an extensive sports region at altitudes between 1,078 m and 2,055 m. Besides a dense network of lift systems, cross-country tracks and piste, après ski is also an activity to enjoy whilst staying here. Cross-country skiers will also be well entertained as there are numerous lovely trails with wonderful panoramic mountain views to enjoy.Travel Turrach
