Ski area Werfenweng

With the "Werfenweng" lift pass, winter sports enthusiasts have a total of 29 kilometres of piste and nine lifts at their disposal. The ski area at an altitude of around 900 to 1,834 metres is located in a side valley of the Salzach and is very family-friendly. Modern, comprehensive snowmaking facilities ensure operation right through to April. For children and beginners, there is a separate practice area with snowpark right next to the valley station of the 8-seater gondola lift Ikarus in the Zaglau district.

Numerous wonderful descents of mostly easy to medium difficulty wind their way down Ladenberg (1,716 m) and Bischlinghöhe (1,834 m). Freeriders also get their money's worth here if the snow conditions are right. A highlight is the 6 km long panoramic descent to the valley station of the Rosnerköpfl village lift.

Après ski Werfenweng

Considering the fact that Werfenweng is a small village with a manageable family ski area, the après ski options here are quite decent. During the day, you can enjoy rustic hut fun at the ski area's refreshment stops, with the Bischlinghöhe umbrella bar being a popular meeting point before the last lift ride. Later on, the atmosphere rises at the Eiky Treff at the valley station of the Ikarus cable car and at the Stoa Alm at the Dorfbahn valley station. Every now and then, guesthouses also organise lively parties, allowing you to extend the après ski hustle and bustle into the evening hours.

On the whole, however, Werfenweng is rather quiet in the evening. On cross-country skis, tobogganing, a leisurely carriage ride or llama trekking, you can enjoy the full splendour of the wintry mountain nature. After a round of ice skating on Lake Wengsee, you can warm up in the cosy Seealmstüberl.

For hiking enthusiasts, there are several family-friendly trails over shorter and longer distances around Werfenweng. Hike through the magical winter landscape of the Wengerau to the Tennenblick or the Gamsblickalm. On the way to this alpine pasture, you will pass the first solar-heated winter hiking trail rest area. Werfenweng is also a hotspot for paragliders and kite flyers. The Bischling often has ideal thermals for unforgettable flying experiences.

Snowpark Werfenweng: IKIS Snowpark

The IKIS Snowpark is located in the IKARUS Arena, right next to the Ikarus valley station. It promises fun in the snow for children of all ages. With eight themed runs, a chill-out area and a 300 metre long toboggan run for the little ones, the park has plenty to offer. Older kids have the opportunity to put their skills to the test on the wave track or in the speed race, for example.
