Ski area Espace Diamant
Where cattle still traditionally graze in summer, there are fantastic opportunities for Alpine and Nordic winter sports in winter. On six peaks, winter sports enthusiasts, whether beginner or professional, really get their money's worth. The descent takes you through forests, past old chalets and always offers impressive views of the surrounding mountains and the fascinating Mont Blanc.
There are stops on the local ski bus network at almost all valley stations, so there is no need for winter sports enthusiasts to travel by private car between the ski areas. One of these valley stations is that of the Rosières lifts in Bisanne. In order to be able to transport up to 2,400 people per hour to Mont Bisanne, the old 4-seater chair lift was replaced by a state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift for the start of the 2021/22 season.
Over 130 kilometres of easy pistes underline the family and beginner-friendly character of Espace Diamant. At almost 7 kilometres, the Choucas in Crest-Voland is the longest descent in the entire ski area, on which winter sports enthusiasts can conquer over 700 metres in altitude. Experienced skiers looking for a sporting challenge can try their hand at the 900 metre-long Ebranchets descent. The black piste, which is not always groomed, leads from Mont Rond through the forest steeply down into the valley.
Night skiing Les Saisies
Winter sports enthusiasts who still haven't had enough of the piste experience after dark are in good hands in Les Saisies. The one-kilometre piste on the Les Périots lift is the only one in Espace Diamant that is equipped with floodlights for night skiing. Skiers and snowboarders do not need an additional lift pass to use the classic-style tow lift during the special opening hours. Day and multi-day tickets for the entire Espace Diamant are also valid for night skiing. There is no fixed timetable for floodlit operation. Instead, the local tourist information office always announces the relevant opening times at short notice in its own event programme.Après ski Les Saisies
In addition to culinary delights, Les Saisies also offers plenty of action away from the pistes in the open air. The popular 750-metre-long "Mountain Twister" summer toboggan run takes you downhill at speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour in a two-seater sledge, even in winter. Positive adrenaline rushes are also guaranteed for guests on the "Escaladventure". Above the Nant Rouge gorge (between Les Saisies and Crest Voland), the adventure course offers suspension bridges, zip lines and high ropes course elements.
In Notre Dame de Bellecombe, things are rather quiet in the evening. Nevertheless, there are plenty of great opportunities for visitors to round off the day in style. More than a dozen restaurants invite you to enjoy Savoyard specialities in a traditional atmosphere.
A wide range of activities are also offered on site. From balloon rides in Praz sur Arly and snowshoe hiking to skidoo rides or a cosy film evening in the village hall: there really is something for everyone here!
Snowpark: Snowparks Espace Diamant Les Saisies
The "Espace Diamant" ski area is a true paradise for those who don't just want to ski on the piste. Here you have all kinds of opportunities to really let off steam. Firstly, there are the boardercross courses where you can compete with other skiers. There are five of these throughout the area. There are also five slalom slopes.
There are also three different snowparks - in Notre Dame de Bellecombe, in Les Saisies and in Crest-Voland Cohennoz. Here, freestylers can let off steam on kickers of different heights, rails and boxes.
