Information on cross-country skiing

700 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The Black Forest offers cross-country skiers and skaters a true El Dorado of approx. 700 km of trails. The tracks are prepared on a daily basis and offer a large selection for every level of skill. Well equipped cross country centres can be found in and around resorts such as Hinterzarten, Titisee-Neustadt, Bad Wildbad, Bernau, Freudenstadt, Lauterbach, Oberharmersbach, Todtmoos, Todtnau and Ühlingen-Birkendorf. From small circuit courses to challenging high altitude trails, everybody will find their favourite track!

The highest located high altitude trail in Baden-Württemberg can be found in the Feldberg area and is a great spot for effective altitude training. If you love enjoying the panoramic views, the Kienberg trail is a wonderful route with a view of Freudenstadt. Several night trails and freestyle tracks make the area even more diverse. The entire cross-country ski network is not only certified by the German Ski Association, but also has standardised signposting. On the way you can find shelters and huts for little breaks in between. A large selection of lessons for beginners is also available.
