120 km Cross-country trails (in km):

There are several options for cross-country skiers near Oberharmersbach. In the Kinzigtal, you can traverse the tracks between Baden and Württemberg. Around the Karlstein (969 m) near Hornberg, there are several cross-country trails between 7 and 8 km long, which lead across wide open spaces with little incline.

Another cross-country skiing centre is located around the Kniebis above Freudenstadt. Here, over 70 km of trails form a real cross-country skiing Mecca. 14 groomed trails ranging from 2.3 to 10.6 km in length offer beginners and advanced skiers ideal opportunities to burn off energy. The "Kienberg trail", a 6.3 km circular tour around the town, offers a beautiful route with a marvellous view over the town. There is even a night trail on the Kniebis. The 2.3 km circuit is floodlit until 22:00. From here, you also have access to the huge network of trails on the Black Forest High Road, where cross-country skiing opportunities extend up to Mehliskopf and Herrenwies. In total, there is a network of around 120 kilometres of cross-country trails in the northern Black Forest.
