Cross-country Schierke

Information on cross-country skiing

40 km Cross-country trails (in km):

Schierke's network of cross-country ski trails includes 40 km of tracks, 30 km of which are prepared daily. The tracks run through the beautiful Harz Nature Park and at an altitude of 600 to 1,000 m offer unique impressions of the winter landscape around the Brocken. Due to the large differences in altitude of up to 400 m, the cross-country trails are sometimes quite demanding and require good fitness. The tours from Wernigerode and the incorporated village of Schierke range from the challenging 12 km long Winterberg cross-country trail to the 5 km long Sportloipe trail, on which you can run under championship conditions, to the 10 km long Stadtwaldloipe trail in the centre of Wernigerode. If that's not enough, Braunlage offers more cross-country trails.
