Information on cross-country skiing
24 km Cross-country trails (in km):
The longest trail is the Schauerbach trail (no. 1, red), which is 15 km long and forms a circuit. It leads from the Karoli Chapel via the spa gardens and meadow valleys to the ski slope in Oberfrauenwald. Around 20 per cent of the moderately difficult trail leads through the forest. The golf course trail (no. 2, blue) is the shortest and easiest route at around 2 kilometres. The Panorama cross-country trail (no. 3, green) is also designed for skating-style skiing and leads exclusively across open meadows. The Heindlschlag cross-country trail (no. 4, orange) is a 3 km long, moderately difficult trail that runs through open terrain and offers a great panoramic view of the Bavarian Forest mountains. Finally, the Adalbert Stifter cross-country trail (no. 5, purple) is one of the medium-length and medium-difficulty trails at 4 km. It runs along the railway embankment and challenges the runner here and there with gentle climbs. From this track you also have connections to Jandelsbrunn, Altreichenau and Haidmühle.
