Ski holidays Bardonecchia – Dolce Vita and Olympic pistes!

Bardonecchia

Bardonecchia, host of all snowboard competitions during the 2006 Winter Olympics, is located closely to Turin, near the French boarder in the Susa Valley. This winter holiday resort is one of Italy's favourite ski regions and looks back on a long tradition of winter sports. Already in 1909 Bardonecchia hosted the very first Italian ski competition. The town was formed from four districts: Rochemolles, Millaures, Melezet and Les Arnauds, each one having its own history, art and culture. There are numerous historic monuments such as churches, chapels and museums. Shopping fans will love the Via Medail with its many boutiques, shops and cafés. The ski area offers 100 kilometres of piste with slopes for all degrees of difficulty, great off-piste opportunities and snow security up to 2,800 m.

Valle di Susa

The Val di Susa is located in Piemont, right at the border to France, surrounded on both sides by a number of 3,000 metre peaks. This valley is especially well known for its high Alpine hiking trail, the Alta Via Val di Susa. It takes 7 days to walk from the valley end in Bardonecchia right into the Bassa Valle. Further it unites 5 nature parks and is also very popular with winter sports fans. Due to being an Olympic venue in 2006, the area around Turin offers wonderful Olympic skiing terrain.
