The region around the municipality of Monguelfo-Tesido is known for its excellently-prepared cross-country ski trails in picturesque nature. In Monguelfo-Tesido and in the adjacent Valle di Casies, cross-country skiing fans will find around 51 km of cross-country ski trails. The majority of the trails are prepared for both classic and skating styles and run through beautiful landscapes, past rustic alpine pastures that invite you to stop for a bite to eat. The section of the Valle di Casies cross-country ski trail from Monguelfo to St. Martin in Valle di Casies is a recommended route. The 14 km long trail starts above the village centre of Monguelfo and ends at the parish church in St. Martin in the Valle di Casies. Along the route, there are occasional benches for a breather and you can stop for a break in Unterplanken along the way. In Monguelfo, you can connect to the "Pustertal Marathon Trail" in the direction of Villabassa, Braies Valley, Dobbiaco, San Candido and Sesto.
