The Alta Pusteria with its resorts Sillian, Katitsch and Obertillian, as well as the two ski areas in the Lienz Dolomites, are characterised by mainly easy to intermediate pistes and are therefore well suited for beginners and families.
Due to the connection between the areas Matrei and Kals, the Großglockner area has grown to 47 km of piste, and therefore has become East Tyrols overall largest ski area. Besides wonderfully vast and easy descents, there are also some black challenges for the pros, e.g. from Cimaross (2,621 m) or the Blauspitze (2,575 m).
Wonderful deep powder snow and off piste runs are to be found round the Brunnalm, in the Lienz Dolomited and in Alta Pusteria. An especially snow reliable terrain, as well as the perfect place to be for boarders and freestylers due to the great snow parks, are the areas around the Mölltal glacier and Ankogel.
