The ski region Gastein, with its 197 km of piste (incl. 21 km of ski routes) and 43 lifts is one of the largest and nicest areas of the Salzburger Land. Beginners will find lovely, wide pistes throughout the entire area. In close proximity to Bad Hofgastein there is further there is also the ski centre Angertal. More challenging are the deep snow runs at Graukogel, which run over into the black FIS racing stretches. Deep snow areas, e.g. at Kreuzkogel as well as numerous ski routes, offer the perfect playground for cracks! The "Hohe Scharte Nord" at the Schlossalm, however, covers the largest difference in altitude in Salzburger Land.
