Ski area Zillertal Arena

With the "Zillertaler Superskipass" you can choose from 542 kilometres of piste (incl. ski routes and snow parks) in Hochfügen, at Spieljoch, in the Hochzillertal, the Zillertal Arena (Zell, Gerlos, Königsleiten, Wald, Krimml and Gerlosstein), at the Penken, at the Ahorn, at the Horberg, in the "Ski and Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000" (Finkenberg, Eggalm, Rastkogl, Hintertux Glacier) and at the Wildkogel-Arena at Bramberg. The ski areas are all excellently linked to one another by a free train and bus shuttle.

Gerlos gives you direct entrance to the Ziller Valley Arena, which is joined to Zell am Ziller and with this 147 km of excellently prepared pistes. Here in the extensive Ziller Valley ski area 59 lifts take you quickly and comfortably up to 2500 m altitude. From there you have the choice of many different descents. One of the hardest pistes is the 2.5 km long "Abfahrt Nr. 36" in the Krummbach valley with an altitude difference of 613 m. The longest descent, the 9 km long valley run goes from "Stoanmandl" on to "Ebenfeld" and to the "Isskogl" valley station. You can get back into the resort by a total of 4 valley runs.

Together with the Isskogel lift the new Dorfbahn lift in Gerlos with take you to the heart of Zillertal arena. The 10 person cabin was opened in 2016/17 and comprises a large valley station with sports shop, ski hire and ski depot as well as more than 200 new parking places.

Deep-snow and freeride fans will get their money's worth especially in Falschbach. Freestylers will be happy in the Snowpark Gerlos at the Vorkogel lift with tables, rails and jumps for all levels. On the 100 m long halfpipe boarding fun is guaranteed! Children's slopes and a ski kindergarten with a special children's programme ensure exciting entertainment for the little ones.

A highlight whilst in the Ziller Valley is a trip to the Hintertux Glacier. Due to its size and demanding pistes, it truly is one of the best glaciers in the Alps!

Après ski Gerlos

The Ziller Valley is known as Austria's hotspot for après-ski, and Gerlos really lives up to this reputation. The party doesn't stop after a visit to one of the many ski huts; in evening you also have your choice of several après-ski bars and discos, in which you can let the superlative come to an end and party all night long, after an adventurous day on the piste.

But even the sports activities apart from the the pistes do not come short. Tobogganing fans will find enough opportunities to enjoy the fun with tobogganing and can let off steam on the 7 km long tobogganing run Gerlosstein in Zell, which is the longest in Ziller valley. Thanks to the flood lights, even until 1 am! But even inside Gerlos you can enjoy the two 1.5 km tobogganing runs after your heart desire.

Those who like it more contemplative can take part in the many winter hiking routes in and around Gerlos and explore the beautiful winter landscape through the sun shine. Whether it be with après-ski, tobogganing, ice skating or snow shoe hiking, everyone is sure to find something to guarantee a perfect holiday!

Snowpark: Hotzone Snowpark Gerlos

In and around Gerlos there are various freestyle possibilities which invite you to be creative. Gerlos' local park, the "Hotzone Snowpark", lies at an altitude of 2,020 m and is spread out over an area of 30,000 m² between the Vorkogel lift and the Ebenfeld express. Beginners, as well as pros can find exactly the right thing here. Beginners can improve their skills and practise new moves on the beginner line on an easy but compact set-up with boxes and jumps. The medium kicker line in the middle of the park challenges intermediates and pros and the pro-line is exclusively for pros. The newly installed jump line is great for those who love air time and it offers kickers, quarter pipes, and corners.

The kids line is a place where the whole family can freestyle together. Those who would like to relax after an exhausting day in the snow can take advantage of the new chill area with great sound system and just observe other freestylers. Further fun is provided by the 100 m long and 18 m wide half-pipe near the Fussalm express.

You can also run riot in the "Action-Park Kreuzwiese" in Zell, which offers special highlights. Fun sport fans will definitely get their money's worth due to the snake run, bag jump, "BMW xDrive Cup SkiMovie" run, as well as the "BMW xDrive Speed Check" run!
