At the foot of the Hohe Salve (1,829 m) stretches one of the sunniest resorts in the Kitzbühel Alps, the market community of Hopfgarten (620 m). You won't find mass tourism here, but rather a resort which has retained its identity and welcomes its guests with good old hospitality. The traditional resort centre highlights this identity with its narrow, stony pubs and magnificent baroque church with its two steeples, the landmark of Hopfgarten. Entertainment off-piste can be had at the various leisure centres, such as toboggan runs, ice rinks or events in the Salvena Culture and Leisure Centre. As it is only one hour by car from Munich, Salzburg and Innsbruck, Hopfgarten is easily reached by bus, car and train even during times of heavy snow.

Surrounded by the Wilder Kaiser mountains, in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental forms one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world and includes the ski areas in Brixen im Thale, Bad Häring, Kelchsau, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Söll, Westendorf, Wörgl, Kirchbichl and Scheffau.
