The Alta Pusteria with its resorts Sillian, Kartitsch and Obertillian and the two ski areas in the Lienz Dolomites offer mostly easy to intermediate pistes and therefore are well suited for beginners and families.
The connection between the ski areas Matrei and Kals is known as the Großglockner Resort and is the largest in Eastern Tyrol with 40 km of piste. Besides some wonderful pleasure runs there are also some nice black pistes for experts, e.g. from Cimaross (2,621 m) or from the Blauspitze (2,575 m).
Fantastic deep snow and off-piste opportunities can be found around the Brunnalm, the Lienz Dolomites and in Alta Pusteria. The Mölltal Glacier ski area offers particularly snow-sure terrain and a perfectly equipped snow park for boarders and freestylers.
